    The course is designed to be completed at your own pace, typically within 6 to 8 weeks. This allows time to absorb the material and apply the coaching tools effectively.

  • Are there set class times?

    The course is fully self-paced with no fixed class times, so you can engage with the content whenever it suits you best.


    Future offerings will include live hybrid sessions for those who prefer interactive learning with scheduled meetings.

  • How can I participate in the live sessions?

    Live sessions are not part of the current course but will be available in the upcoming hybrid version starting January 2026.

    These sessions will include group discussions, coaching support, and deeper reflection facilitated by Shelley Steele.

    While the course is relevant for educators, leaders, and mentors, it is designed for anyone who supports others through everyday conversations—at work or in life. 


    The focus is on how we show up in relational moments, not on holding a specific title.

  • Is this a coaching, counselling, or certification program?

    No. The Essential Mentor™ is a reflective learning experience. It is not a certification, therapy model, or formal coaching framework. 


    The course supports awareness, shared language, and relational insight that participants can integrate naturally into their existing roles.

  • Why is this course relevant today?

    As communication becomes more digital and less centred in extended verbal exchange, many people have fewer natural opportunities to practise steady, supportive conversation. 


    This course supports participants in strengthening how they relate—whether in person, by phone, or across everyday communication channels.

  • How is the course delivered?

    The Essential Mentor will be offered in self-paced and hybrid (with live facilitation) formats.
